What is an Agape Family?

Agape Families are safe, nurturing homes and hearts — ready to step in when a family is facing crisis. Whether it’s offering temporary child care for a few hours or a few days, or becoming a steady presence in the life of a caregiver who feels alone, Agape Families show up with love and consistency.

You don’t have to be perfect — just present, compassionate, and open to building relationships rooted in empathy and care.

Who Can Be an Agape Family?

We welcome individuals, couples, and families across Ontario (with priority in the GTA) who are:

• Trauma-informed or open to training

• Emotionally available and culturally responsive

• Willing to provide short-term care and/or mentorship

• Reliable, nonjudgmental, and deeply committed to community

Support We Provide

We’re with you every step of the way:

• Training and orientation

• Ongoing support from early childhood professionals

• Emergency resources

• A small honorarium when funding allows
